Democratization of AIML

{image source : Wikiwand, Democracy Index}

AI with its machine learning counterpart has not only automated the software development but it has taken over all sectors of human life, including food, agriculture, transport, logistics, education, health care, energy, environment science, art, literature. Such a rapid growth wouldn't have been possible without the democratization of AI technology by it's stake holders.

Democratization meaning open sourcing the software components and libraries with pre-trained Machine learning models to facilitate its usage in wider scope. This has fueled rapid adaptation and promoted crowd-sourced bug fixing to improve the models to befit them in variety of usage and in sectors. Google and Microsoft has been major stakeholders in outsourcing the AIML components. The kaggle community through its various competitions and availability of datasets, has made the fast adaptation of AIML technology possible. making a fair judgement.

AIML revolutionized technology but has made a history by building a culture of makers where technology and knowledge is not owned by handful but expanded by many.

So, Is it a socialist movement? Well! That is debatable, because, thousands developing it for free and only handful making money out of it. Perhaps, it is a Democratic Capitalization of AI.
